60 Minutes: 20 Histology Tips

When was the last time that your pathologist brought you a slide of decalcified bone, and said it was the best she ever saw? Ever wonder why your PAS stain is not staining the basement membrane the way it should? These questions and 18 others will be discussed and answered during the one hour Webinar: “60 minutes: 20 Histology Tips.” The discussion will be focused on issues related to routine histology, special stains, immunohistochemistry, histology equipment and other related subjects. All participants are invited to bring their histology “pet peeve” questions for discussion and resolution.
- Effectively manage the various specimen types received in the histology laboratory regarding proper processing and embedding.
- Troubleshoot the routine hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) stain.
- Troubleshoot immunohistochemistry stains.
- Effectively utilize automated staining platforms in the histology laboratory.
- Utilize novel methods to solve histology quality issues.
Clif Chapman is Technical Specialist/Education Coordinator of Strata Pathology Services, Lexington, MA. His responsibilities include in-house training of laboratory personnel, mentoring of Harford Community College On Line Histology students, quality management of laboratory operations, and supervisor of Immunohistochemistry and Molecular Laboratories. Clif received his Master's Degree in Botany from the University of Milwaukee and his Bachelor's in Biology from Lowell State College. He is a published author including: ‘Histology Hardball: Solutions for Hard Tissue.‘ |
